Alexandra Malangone - Lawyer

Alexandra Malangone is a lawyer and expert in the protection of victims of human trafficking who has been with the Human Rights League since 2012. She currently works on a project for the international network PICUM. Since 2025, she has also served as an advisor to the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime (GCFFC).

Alexandra studied International and European Law at Utrecht University and also holds a Master's degree in International Cooperation and Development from the University of Pavia. She was previously awarded the Human Rights Defender award for her sustained leadership in advocating for the protection of rights of trafficking victims and migrants, and for her efforts to hold the perpetrators of crimes committed against refugees from Ukraine accountable.

Throughout her career, she headed the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) field office in Bratislava and worked in the Office of the OSCE Special Representative. Serving as an independent expert, she was a member of the GRETA committee (Council of Europe) and has advised organizations such as UNHCR, ECPAT and ICMPD.
