Alexandra Malangone - Lawyer

Alexandra Malangone is a lawyer and expert in the protection of victims of human trafficking who has been with the Human Rights League since 2012. She studied International and European Law at Utrecht University and also holds a Master's degree in International Cooperation and Development from the University of Pavia. In 2023, she received the Human Rights Defender Award for her work in exposing rights violations related to organized crime.

Throughout her career, she has headed the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Bratislava and served in the Office of the OSCE Special Representative. As an independent expert, she was a member of the GRETA committee (Council of Europe) and has advised institutions such as UNHCR, ECPAT and ICMPD. She currently serves as an Associate Fellow at Johns Hopkins University SAIS in Bologna, where she leads the Human Trafficking Initiative.
